Mahon Underwriters Rolling Steel Doors
Mahon Door Underwriters rolling steel doors are designed for openings requiring fire-labeled closures. In the event of a fire, the doors automatically close upon the melting of a fusible link and/or activation of smoke detection devices, preventing the passage of flame and smoke. Under normal conditions, they operate with the same ease as standard service doors. Thru-wall fusible links are available as an optional feature.
These doors may be operated manually, by hand chain, hand crank, or motor operator.
Fire labels are available on doors up to 120 sq. ft. with no dimension greater than 12′ in width or height. Oversize certificates are available for doors up to 576 sq. ft. with no dimension greater than 24′ in width or height.
Certifications & Compliance
Underwriters Oversized Certificate
An Underwriters Certificate of Factory Inspection is furnished on all Mahon doors exceeding 120 sq. ft. This certifies compliance with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) requirements.
Listed Expansion Shields
Where required, Mahon provides listed expansion shields for concrete jambs, complying with NFPA 80 standards for fire doors and windows.
Listed Motors
When specified, UL-listed operators and optional electrical control devices can be supplied to enhance ease of operation.
Slat Types
Mahon slat #3 is standard for fire doors. Slat #4 (insulated) and slat #5 (flat slat) are optional and available when specified. All slats are furnished in gauges required by UL standards, with heavier gauges available as an option.
